Microneedling

What is Microneedling?

Microneedling is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure in which tiny needles are used to create micro injuries in the skin. These tiny injuries in the skin evoke a wound healing response and stimulate your skin to create more collagen & elastin; two substances which are the building blocks for smooth, youthful looking skin.  Don’t worry! Numbing cream will be applied to your skin prior to your treatment making it virtually painless.

What to expect with a Microneedling Anti-aging Treatment

Before beginning your microneedling treatment your skin will be cleansed and a topical numbing cream will be applied. The anesthetic cream will be left to act for 45 minutes. During this time you are welcomed to use your phone or watch a tablet.

Once the cream has had enough time to act, it will be removed and your skin will be cleansed once again. This sterile procedure then requires your skin to be prepped with alcohol. Once the skin has been cleansed and prepared, your treatment will begin.

You should feel minimal to no discomfort during your treatment.

Aftercare

There is minimal downtime associated with microneedling. The days following your treatment you will want to treat your skin gently using only gentle skincare products recommended by your provider at Dear Me.

The most common side effects experienced after microneedling are redness, warmth or sensitivity and mild peeling a few days later. Your skin will typically heal and be back to normal in 3-5 days.

Most patients require a series of 2-4 treatments to see significant results, however this varies based on the condition of your skin.
